About Global Data and BI Global Data and BI is hiring on a rolling basis for Data, BI & Analytics and ML/AI projects for large corporations. Beyond consulting services, we build production-ready business platforms and SaaS applications that leverage modern cloud technologies, data analytics, and AI capabilities. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions with certified engineers in AWS and Microsoft Azure / Power BI technologies. Our focus includes transformation projects in the financial industry, custom platform development, and our proprietary Noème suite of products. Summary

The Global Data and BI sales organization combines product-led growth with enterprise sales, as many customers explore our Noème products through self-service before growing toward enterprise-wide implementations. As we scale, more prospects are investigating how our data platforms can integrate with their existing tech stacks, replace legacy BI solutions, support complex data governance requirements, or be deployed in phased implementations to support strategic business goals.

As a Solutions Engineer, you will serve as the technical bridge between our sales team and prospective customers. You'll combine deep technical knowledge of data platforms, cloud architecture, and analytics solutions with excellent communication skills to help customers understand how Global Data and BI's solutions can solve their specific business challenges.

What you'll do (roles & responsibilities)

  • Partner with sales teams on customer engagements with prospective and existing enterprise customers throughout the sales cycle
  • Lead technical discovery to understand customer requirements, existing data infrastructure, pain points, and business objectives
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations of Noème products, data platform capabilities, and BI solutions tailored to customer use cases
  • Design solution architectures showing how our data platforms, analytics tools, and AI capabilities can address customer needs
  • Respond to technical questions in RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires in a precise and timely manner
  • Provide technical guidance to customers throughout the sales process, with focus on deployment strategies, integration approaches, and implementation planning
  • Conduct proof-of-concept (POC) engagements working with customer data to demonstrate value and validate technical fit
  • Showcase integration capabilities with existing customer systems including data sources, cloud platforms, identity providers, security tools, and BI platforms
  • Address security and compliance requirements including data governance, encryption, access control, audit logging, and regulatory compliance (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Create custom demonstrations based on deep understanding of how our solutions support customer workflows and business processes
  • Support technical evaluations including competitive analysis, feature comparisons, and technical differentiators
  • Collaborate with Professional Services to ensure smooth handoffs and realistic scoping of implementation projects
  • Gather and curate product feedback from customer engagements to enable Product and Engineering teams to enhance solutions
  • Work with Marketing to refine technical messaging, create technical content including blog posts, webinars, solution briefs, and customer-facing collateral
  • Educate sales teams on products, new releases, competitive intelligence, customer environments, and third-party integrations
  • Document technical considerations and contribute to internal knowledge bases as resources for sales, delivery teams, and partners
  • Build reference architectures and solution patterns for common customer scenarios
  • Represent the company at events including industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events as technical expert
  • Support customer escalations by providing technical expertise during critical sales situations
  • Mentor junior solutions engineers as the team grows

What you should have (Must-Haves)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
  • 4+ years as Technical Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Pre-Sales Engineer
  • Deep understanding of data platforms and analytics including data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and BI tools
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and ability to discuss cloud architecture, services, and deployment models
  • Strong presentation and demonstration skills with ability to tailor technical content to different audiences (executives, IT leaders, data engineers)
  • Understanding of data integration and ability to explain how APIs, connectors, and integration patterns work
  • Experience with enterprise security requirements including SSO/SAML, IAM, role-based access control, encryption, and compliance frameworks
  • Familiarity with third-party integrations for identity management (Okta, Azure AD), data sources (databases, SaaS applications, file systems)
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing technical evaluations and POCs to completion
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Customer-facing experience in technical pre-sales or consulting roles
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Professional Services teams

  • Highly adaptable to rapidly changing business needs and industry developments
  • Self-directed and proactive in identifying opportunities and solving problems

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience as early hire at fast-growing startup or scale-up company
  • Hands-on experience with data engineering tools (dbt, Airflow, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Synapse)
  • Knowledge of BI and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik)
  • SQL proficiency and understanding of database design and data modeling
  • Coding or scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, SQL) to write demos, POC scripts, or integration examples
  • Experience with API development and integration including REST APIs, webhooks, and API design patterns
  • Understanding of data governance including data catalogs, lineage, quality, privacy, and compliance
  • Familiarity with ML/AI platforms and how AI capabilities integrate into data solutions
  • Experience with financial services or regulated industries and their specific requirements
  • Background in data migration and legacy system modernization projects
  • Knowledge of modern data stack (Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, etc.) and how components work together
  • Experience selling or implementing SaaS products in B2B enterprise environment
  • Understanding of professional services business model and how consulting integrates with product sales
  • Certifications in AWS or Azure (Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, or similar)
  • Power BI or Tableau development experience
  • Experience with data quality and observability tools (Monte Carlo, Great Expectations, Datadog)
  • Understanding of streaming data and real-time analytics platforms
  • Competitive analysis experience in data and analytics space
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French (asset for supporting Quebec and French-speaking clients)

Work details

  • Location: Remote (flexible timezone, with preference for coverage during business hours in North America and/or Europe)
  • Reporting relationship: You will report to the VP of Sales, Head of Solutions Engineering, or Director of Pre-Sales
